Much is at stake in this 2012 election year. Who better to advise you than Senator Daschle, a senior statesman who has had a hand in almost every major public policy issue of the last three decades?
Senator Daschle served 8 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and 19 in the Senate, where he was named Democratic Leader in 1994. During his tenure, he steered the Senate through some of its most historic economic and national security challenges.
Since leaving the Senate in 2005, Senator Daschle has remained a relevant and respected political voice. He chronicled his healthcare experience, specifically, in two recent books: Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis (2008) and Getting It Done, an insider’s look at the 2009 passage of healthcare reform legislation.
Senator Daschle is currently a Senior Policy Advisor in DLA Piper's Government Affairs practice. In 2007, he joined with other former Majority Leaders to create the Bipartisan Policy Center, an organization dedicated to finding common ground on pressing public policy challenges. Senator Daschle also serves on the board of the Center for American Progress and the National Democratic Institute and is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations. He is a member of the Health Policy and Management Executive Council at the Harvard School of Public Health.
