Whether she’s testifying before Congress to protect SAMHSA funding, alerting the public to proposed Medicaid cuts, or blogging about the “silent public health crisis,” Linda Rosenberg is not afraid to speak up. She has her eye on what’s next — and you can rest assured she’s looking out for you and the communities you serve.
Rosenberg has been president and CEO of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare since 2004. Under her visionary leadership, the National Council has:
• Helped to secure the passage of the federal mental health and addiction parity law
• Expanded financing for integrated behavioral health/primary care services
• Worked to bring behavioral health to the table in federal healthcare reform dialogue and initiatives
• Played a key role in introducing the Mental Health First Aid public education program
A certified social worker, family therapist, and psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner, Rosenberg has more than 30 years of experience in the design and delivery of mental health services and the development and implementation of mental health policy.
Prior to joining the National Council, Rosenberg served as senior deputy commissioner of the New York state Office of Mental Health. She has held faculty appointments at a number of schools of social work and serves on many agency and editorial boards.
