ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:
William Brim, Psy.D., Deputy Director, Center for Deployment Psychology
William Brim, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He has been with the Center for Deployment Psychology since 2007, initially as a Deployment Behavioral Health Psychologist at Malcolm Grow (USAF) Medical Center and serving as the Deputy Director since 2008. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (Psychology) and has his Master's and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL (1998). He is a graduate of the Wilford Hall (USAF) Medical Center Psychology Residency Program (1998) and the Wilford Hall Clinical Health Psychology Post-doctoral Fellowship Program (2001). Dr. Brim served on Active Duty as a psychologist in the United States Air Force from 1997 to 2007.
The focus of Dr. Brim's clinical work, supervision and training is on deployment and redeployment related mental health issues, specifically assessment and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Insomnia. Additionally, Dr. Brim focuses on health psychology clinical practice and supervision, the integration of mental health services in primary care and offers forensic psychology expert consultation and witness services.
Jeannie Campbell, Executive Vice President, National Council
Jeannie Campbell serves as the chief operating officer of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, leading the administrative and fiscal management of the organization as well as overseeing the member services, communications, public policy and practice improvement functions. Campbell is particularly focused on bringing learning innovation to National Council members, helping to improve both their clinical and business practices.
A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, Ms. Campbell also leads the National Council’s efforts to improve healthcare for veterans. She orchestrates the National Council Conference, the field’s premier training and networking event.
Vanessa Seaney, MSW, BS, LCSW, CPHQ, Chief Clinical Officer, Community Partnership of Southern Arizona
Vanessa Seaney is the Chief Clinical Officer for Community Partnership of Southern Arizona (CPSA), the Regional Behavioral Health Authority that oversees public behavioral healthcare in Pima County for the state of Arizona.
Vanessa is a native Tucsonan and received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University and earned a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University School of Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is certified as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). Vanessa has 28 years experience working in public behavioral healthcare in Southern Arizona, including 16 years with CPSA. Her career includes crisis, clinical, supervisory, managerial and administrative experience.
In her role at CPSA, Vanessa directs clinical areas that are responsible for the design, development, and implementation and monitoring of recovery system enhancements. These enhancements help to ensure a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health care for adults and children in Pima County, including the behavioral health needs of veterans. She has extensive leadership experience in program development and provision of supervision, training, and technical assistance to behavioral health professionals and community stakeholders. Her clinical expertise includes cultural diversity, crisis assessment, behavioral health evaluations, clinical case management, psychotherapy, and utilization management.
Brett Rustand, Veterans’ Advocate and Board Member, Community Partnership of Southern Arizona
Brett Rustand is a Board Member for Community Partnership of Southern Arizona (CPSA), the Regional Behavioral Health Authority that oversees public behavioral healthcare in Pima County for the state of Arizona.
With a degree in international relations and Latin American studies from Brigham Young University, Brett was commissioned in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. Brett went on assignments with the 101st Airborne and 2nd Infantry Division from Iraq to Korea. He was responsible for flying Blackhawk helicopters and leading soldiers. As an officer, Brett was heavily involved in reconstruction efforts in northern Iraq, building schools, infrastructure, and partnerships with local and regional leaders.
A native of Arizona, Brett returned with his family to the state to put down roots and assist in improving Arizona through public-service opportunities. Brett is actively engaged with community behavioral health and with the U.S. Department of Defense in supporting returning veterans.
