Have you or someone you know demonstrated leadership and success in behavioral health advocacy over the last year? If so, we encourage you to submit a nomination for the National Council’s Advocacy Leadership Awards! These prestigious awards will recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations who are leading the charge to expand access to services and supports for individuals living with mental illness and substance use conditions.

There are three categories of awards:

  • The Award for Exceptional Individual Achievement in Advocacy  honors an individual who has engaged in outstanding work in behavioral health policy and advocacy over the last year.
  • The Award for Outstanding Organizational Leadership in Advocacy honors a behavioral healthcare organization that has demonstrated excellence in advocating for behavioral health policies.
  • The Award for Visionary Leadership in Behavioral Health by an Elected Official honors a state or local elected official who has engaged in exemplary efforts to promote positive behavioral health policies.

The deadline for submission of your online application is July 22, 2013. Winners will receive a $5,000 grant, to be provided to the non-profit organization of the honoree’s choice, along with recognition at our annual Hill Day awards reception (travel expenses paid). For more information on the awards and how to apply, visit our Awards website.
