Pediatric Integration Part 3: Pediatric Integration in Schools to Promote Positive Identity Development for Underserved Adolescents

Join us Thursday, Jan. 25, 2-3 p.m. ET, for Pediatric Integration in Schools to Promote Positive Identity Development for Underserved Adolescents, the third installment in our pediatric integration webinar series. Gather insights from integrated care clinicians and experts who will discuss the recent youth mental health crisis and opportunities for leveraging pediatric integrated care to improve health outcomes among adolescents.

Research has shown that stable and positive identity development is associated with better mental health for adolescents. Integrated care models targeting adolescents can influence healthy identity development and prevent social and emotional disorders in adolescence and early adulthood.

Good relationships with peers are also linked with better emotional and psychological wellbeing. Far too often, marginalized adolescents experiencing behavioral health crises are subjected to prolonged hospitalizations, disproportionate school discipline, out-of-school and home placements, and involvement with child welfare and juvenile justice systems of care. This session will explore the trauma-informed, culturally responsive, antiracist and equity framework practices that are necessary to address the youth mental health crisis.
