With 12.3 million people seriously considering suicide in the past year, there is a need and opportunity to enhance how we help people through their suicidal crises. Navigating a client’s suicidal crisis can be difficult, especially when newer to the field or without the specific steps and strategies to consider. Please join us as we explore the various presentations and reactions of outpatient clients experiencing a suicidal crisis. We will discuss the basics of assessing suicidality; how to establish immediate safety and de-escalation; and the immediate and ongoing ways to help the client manage.
