Oral Health, Mental Health & Substance Use Treatment: A Toolkit in Action

Oral health can be an overwhelming concern for individuals living with mental health or substance use challenges, but often is not commonly addressed. Oral health, mental health and substance use treatment are intricately linked. Uncoordinated oral and behavioral health care and lack of access to care can drastically exacerbate existing health disparities, increase health care costs, and result in poor overall health outcomes for those most at-risk.

To address this growing unmet need, the Center of Excellence for Integrated Health Solutions (CoE-IHS) in collaboration with Bowling Business Strategies, have been exploring opportunities for providers to integrate oral health, mental health, and substance use treatment services. After developing an environmental scan of successful oral health and behavioral health integration models and learning more about challenges that providers face in advancing the integration of these services, the CoE-IHS developed a toolkit, Oral Health, Mental Health & Substance Use Treatment: A Framework for Care Coordination & Integration

Join us on Tuesday, December 14th from 3:00-4:00pm ET for our upcoming webinar: Oral Health, Mental Health, and Substance Use Treatment Integration: A Toolkit in Action to hear from experts in the field as we explore the toolkit and discuss its ways you can incorporate similar integration models within your practice settings.
