Sandeep Kapoor

Dr. Sandeep Kapoor is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine and Director of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System (NSLIJ). Dr. Kapoor has worked towards strengthening the collaboration between the departments of Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry, in efforts to further integrate Behavioral Health within Primary Care and Emergency Medicine. Leading an inter-professional, interdisciplinary team that has successfully implemented SBIRT within multiple clinical sites at NSLIJ, the SBIRT team has administered over 125,000 screens and 4,000 brief interventions since December of 2013, within four emergency departments and four primary care settings.
