Sola King, MS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Chartered FCIPD, joined the National Council in 2018 and, as chief people officer, leads the organization’s cultural transformation and executing on its people strategy to drive business results and enhance the employee experience. She collaborates with key stakeholders to define and implement a talent management strategy aligned with the National Council’s broader mission and goals.

King is a strategic human resource leader passionate about driving business results, innovation and change through effective talent management and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives. With more than 20 years’ experience working in all aspects of HR, she is skilled at elevating the employee experience and developing targeted strategies and solutions resulting in cultural transformation. King has served as an HR leader in both for- and nonprofit sectors, including at the Universal Service Administrative Company, a subsidiary of the National Exchange Carrier Association.

King earned her bachelor’s degree in language arts and master’s in human resources and organizational development from the University of Maryland. She also holds a Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University. In addition to being a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, she is a certified senior professional in human resources and a Society for Human Resource Management-certified professional.
