Social Media and Youth Mental Health: Tips for Teens

Are you looking for positive ways the young people in your life can use social media? Join us for this live virtual event with Lacey Rosenbaum, PhD, and two teen guest speakers. This webinar will be brought to you by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and the American Academy of Pediatrics Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health.

Share the news about this upcoming event with the young people in your life — aged 12-18. They’ll be able to share their experiences using social media with other youth and learn tips about how to manage social media’s impact and take care of their own mental health. Or attend the event yourself and share these tips with the youth in your life.

Following this event, you will be able to:

  • Explain the potential risks and benefits of social media use to the mental health of young people.
  • Identify healthy social media habits.
  • Discuss resources and strategies to support the specific healthy social media habit(s) youth would like to start or continue.

Want to Delve Further?

The webinar will be followed by an Office Hour with Dr. Rosenbaum on Thursday, Oct. 5, 7-8 p.m. ET, to provide a more intimate opportunity for teens to discuss what they’ve learned and bring any questions.
