Continuing Education
NatCon offers a robust learning program led by hundreds of mental health and substance use experts across the country. Through our curriculum, we seek to:
- Address our attendees’ continuing education needs and help them meet goals that ultimately create healthier lives for the clients they serve.
- Promote the development of innovative, responsive services in community-based settings to further the field and support our audiences.
- Help organizations and practitioners build the vision, knowledge and skills needed to shape new mental health and substance use treatment systems, as well as support the National Council’s mission.
One of the ways we’re investing in our attendees is by offering the most continuing education (CE) and continuing medical education (CME) credits* in our industry! We are submitting for credits through the following accrediting bodies:
National CE/CME Credits:
- Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- American Psychological Association (APA)
- Compliance Certification Board (CCB)
- NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals
- National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
- National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)
- Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
State-specific CE Credits:
- New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, Division of Professional Licensing Services, Social Work Unit
- New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, State Board for Mental Health Practitioners: Mental Health Counselors (MHC)
*Continuing education requirements vary from state to state. Many state boards grant reciprocity with national accrediting organizations and other state boards. It is the responsibility of each professional to understand the requirements for license renewal or check with the state or national licensing board and/or professional organization to become more familiar with their policies for acceptable continuing education credit. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval.
