Policy Action Center

Senator Roy Blunt from Missouri accepting an award from National Council Association Executive, Brent McGinty

The National Council for Behavioral Health’s policy initiatives combine the work of our own policy experts and analysts with organized grassroots and grasstops outreach experience to translate behavioral healthcare providers’ power into effective advocacy for federal addiction and mental health policy.

Our policy team monitors and responds to the latest federal policy developments to ensure fair consideration of addiction and mental health providers’ perspectives and needs; champions federal legislation that helps addiction and mental health providers to more effectively serve their communities; and collaborates with other national mental health and addictions organizations, legislators, and federal agencies.
