Tool #1 Decision Tree: Do Federal Alcohol & Drug Confidentiality Rules Apply to Your SBIRT Services?

This tool is part of the Legal Action Center’s series on confidentiality regulations as they relate to SBIRT services for youth. Building upon “Tool # 1: Fact Sheet”, this tool includes a decision tree to help SBIRT providers determine whether their SBIRT services are subject to federal confidentiality rules for substance use disorder records, known as Part 2. Part 2 confidentiality rules apply to SBIRT service providers in a federally assisted program settings. The toolkit is available here.
