A third tool in the Legal Action Center’s series on confidentiality regulations as they relate to SBIRT services for youth, this tool outlines how Part 2 applies to common scenarios involving SBIRT. The tool provides guidance around security of records, disclosures to parents and guardians, consent form strategies, and disclosure to third-party payers. Part 2 is also discussed in the context of particular settings, such as SBIRT in schools, juvenile justice settings, or primary care and integrated health settings. The toolkit is available here.
