Awards of Excellence: 2009 Awards

Each year, the National Council honors the best and brightest in behavioral healthcare.

The National Council Awards of Excellence honorees reflect the outstanding work that is being done by behavioral healthcare organizations across the country. Staff and board leadership, consumers and families, and community partners are recognized for philosophies, messages, advocacy and programs that have a lasting positive impact on children, adults, and families with mental illnesses and addiction disorders.

Awardees will be recognized at a gala Awards Dinner held in conjunction with the 2009 National Council Conference, April 6-8 in San Antonio, Texas.

Nominations for 2009 Awards will be accepted in the following categories:

We are pleased to announce the "Excellence in the Use of Technology" Award, new in 2009, thanks to the sponsorship of Qualifacts Systems, Inc. We are proud to be able to recognize the innovation and hard work put into business and clinical practices through technology, allowing for our behavioral healthcare providers to spend more time with the consumers who need them. The winning organization of the Excellence in the Use of Technology Award will receive a cash award in the amount of $10,000.

Also new in 2009 is the "Rookie of the Year" Emerging Leader Award, recognizing new staff and/or staff in new positions within the behavioral healthcare industry who have really made an impact in a short time. This award has been created to highlight the enthusiasm and passion of a new generation entering the behavioral healthcare workforce.
