Mental Health First Aid USA is a course that teaches participants how to interact with and connect a person to the appropriate care. The training uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to recognize and respond to the warning signs of specific illnesses like anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance use disorders.
The approximate cost to train one Mental Health First Aider in your community is $170, and the cost to certify an Instructor to teach Mental Health First Aid is $2,000. Your donation to Mental Health First Aid has the potential to save lives.
The National Council for Behavioral Health brought Mental Health First Aid to the U.S. in 2008. Today, more than 1 million people have been trained through a network of over 12,000 certified Instructors.
