CoE Office Hour: Motivational Interviewing in Pandemic Times

The pandemic has forced a great deal of change upon us and the people we serve. Autonomy and values may feel compromised. Navigating a new normal can push the limits of tolerance and capacity for the unknown. Motivational Interviewing is a communication style for guiding others to identify their own reasons and capacity to take steps forward. Now, perhaps more than ever before, there is a need for these collaborative conversations as we face the most demanding public health challenge of our lives.

Please join us for our Office hour session on Thursday, February 25th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm ET to discuss Strategies For Using Motivational Interviewing throughout the Pandemic. This session is led by Pam Pietruszewski, Integrated Health Consultant at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, Christopher Bailey, Project Coordinator at Project Vida, and Sandeep Kapoor, Assistant Vice President at Northwell Health. In this session, our panelists will address ways Motivational Interviewing can help to support providers around various COVID-19 related issues, such as, mask mandates, vaccine hesitancy and the discomfort of uncertainty.
